After updating Word 365 App on my iPad Pro M4 running iPad OS 26, the print function in Word does not work. Today’s update also updated Excel 365 and print works on Excel as well as other apps on my iPad Pro M4. It seems that only Word’s print fails. The “print menu item” is available on Word 365, but it does nothing with selected.

That makes sense and is a good temporary solution. Since AirPrint works in other apps and you’ve reported the issue to Microsoft, the problem is likely with the recent Word update. Using PDF export or Pages to print is the supported workaround until Microsoft releases a fix. Keep an eye on Word updates in the App Store, as the fix should arrive in a future update.

Thanks for the details. Since Word is up to date, Excel prints fine, and restarting didn’t help, is your Word file saved to OneDrive or another cloud service?

I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling Word if printing does not work after an update. Your documents remain safe if they are saved in the cloud. After reinstalling, open Word and try printing again.

Thanks for the details. Is your Word app updated to the latest version and does it have permission to access your printer in iPad settings?

On iPad, Word 365 uses AirPrint to print. I recommend making sure your iPad and printer are on the same Wi-Fi, restarting Word and the iPad, checking for any pending updates, and confirming AirPrint works in other apps. If printing still fails, signing out of your Microsoft account in Word and signing back in may help.
