After updating Word 365 App on my iPad Pro M4 running iPad OS 26, the print function in Word does not work. Today’s update also updated Excel 365 and print works on Excel as well as other apps on my iPad Pro M4. It seems that only Word’s print fails. The “print menu item” is available on Word 365, but it does nothing with selected.

That makes sense and is a good temporary solution. Since AirPrint works in other apps and you’ve reported the issue to Microsoft, the problem is likely with the recent Word update. Using PDF export or Pages to print is the supported workaround until Microsoft releases a fix. Keep an eye on Word updates in the App Store, as the fix should arrive in a future update.

Thanks to whoever said it is fixed. Delete and reload the app. It is working.

Word updated again today and the printing issue was resolved with that update… So, it seems that the print problem the previous update created has been resolved with today’s (11/24/25) update of the iPad app. Thanks to all for your help!

Since last updates MS Word for iPad is completely unusable: including data loss: The App crashes again and again while working, including data loss of the last changes; Printing no longer possible, because the corresponding dialog no longer opens; Changes are sometimes no longer saved when closing the current document, resulting in data loss; when I tried to completely reinstall MS Word by deleting the app, my current Word documents were automatically and irretrievably deleted.

Hint: MS Excel on iPad and MS Word on my Mac do not have those problems.

    Sorry this is totally disappointing.

Thanks for the update. Since reinstalling Word did not fix the issue, is your iPad connected to the printer via the same Wi-Fi network and does AirPrint work from other apps?

Microsoft officially notes that if Word fails to print while other apps work, the issue may be related to the specific Word update. The recommended step is to report the problem through Word’s Help & Feedback option in the app so Microsoft can investigate and provide a fix in a future update. Meanwhile, you can print your Word documents from another device, such as a PC or Mac, if urgent.
