Hi,

I accidentally deleted the OneNote printer on my Windows 11. For reference, I've tried to re-download the OneNote app, manually add the printer (it shows up as "Microsoft OneNote 15 driver" for me), repaired Microsoft 365 via the control panel, and restarted my surface pro multiple times now. However, none of this has worked.

Could someone let me know if they were able to solve this issue and what to do. Appreciate any help, thanks!

Hello a, thanks for posting this in our community.

The "Send to OneNote" printer is part of the Microsoft Office suite and is tied to the OneNote desktop app, not a standalone printer driver. To restore it, open Control Panel and go to Programs and Features. Select Microsoft 365 (or the Office version you have installed), click Change, and choose Online Repair. After the repair completes, restart your device and check if "Send to OneNote" appears in your printer list.

You mentioned you've already tried repairing Office, but please make sure you're using the Online Repair option, as it's more thorough than Quick Repair.

You can also try adding the printer manually. Go to Settings, then Bluetooth & devices, and open Printers & scanners. Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for Windows to detect available printers. If "Send to OneNote" doesn’t appear, click “The printer that I want isn’t listed.” Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, select PORTPROMPT: (Local Port), and then choose Microsoft OneNote from the driver list. Make sure to select the version that matches your Office installation, such as OneNote 365.

If you're still not seeing the printer, it's possible that missing components could be restored through Office updates. Open any Office app like Word, go to File, then Account, and click Update Options followed by Update Now.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
