How show filename extensions on OneDrive app for iphone. Version 16.26.3 does not have an option to show filename extensions

My new job has provided me with an iPhone, and I'm trying to get it setup. The OneDrive app (ver 16.26.3) shows filename extensions for some files but not for others, perhaps an issue with filename length. The app does not include an option to show file extensions, as on the Android app. There are many situations where I have identical filenames, only differentiated by their extensions, and having to select each one and select details to see the extension is a headache.

Please let me know if there is a way to have OneDrive always show the filename extensions.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Unfortunately, the OneDrive app for iPhone (iOS) does not include any setting to always show filename extensions. This is not a bug, it's a missing feature on iOS.

The recommended workaround is use the Files app.

  1. Open Files
  2. Tap Browse
  3. Under Locations, tap OneDrive
  4. You will see the full filenames

To recap what is on iOS OneDrive (Ver 16.26.3)

  • No “Show file extensions” toggle

No “List view with full filenames” option

No “Always show full filenames” accessibility option

No setting in Microsoft 365 admin center affecting this

Only Android and Windows versions offer that.
