Disable OTP Email on Signup

I have a website that uses Microsoft Entra External ID to log in/register my users.

I've noticed that since using Entra, I've had significantly fewer registrations. I suspect the obstacle to registration is the one-time password (OTP) sent by email for email verification.

Is it possible to disable the verification email sent during registration, even though I know it can lead to accounts with unverified email addresses?

Hello Eric C,

To disable OTP Email on Signup, Go to Microsoft External Entra ID > External Identities > All identity providers > Email one-time passcode > select No > Save

The above setting applies only for guest users.

For Microsoft Entra External ID, you cannot disable the email OTP as it’s mandatory for verifying users’ email.

Yes but I want to disable email OTP for any new user ! Not only guest users !

Eric C ,Email OTP for External ID local accounts cannot be disabled. The settings you tried only affect guest users or tenant users, not External ID sign-ups. For External ID, email verification is mandatory.

If you need a flow without email OTP, you must use social login, phone sign-in, or B2C custom policies.
