My left sidebar navigation on SharePoint has different folder names then the folders themselves. How can I update the folder name to match the navigation bar?

To update the folder names in SharePoint so that they match the navigation bar, you can follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the SharePoint site where the folders are located.
  2. Click on the Settings button (Gear icon) and select Site Settings.
  3. Under Site Actions, click on Manage Site Features.
  4. Ensure that the Metadata Navigation and Filtering feature is activated.
  5. Go to the Library Settings of the document library containing the folders.
  6. Click on Per-Location View Settings and adjust the folder names to the desired default views.
  7. Return to Library Settings and click on Metadata navigation settings.
  8. Add Folders and Content Type to the Selected Hierarchy Fields box and click OK.

After making these changes, the folder names should align with what is displayed in the left sidebar navigation. If discrepancies persist, ensure that the folder names are consistent across the site and that there are no duplicate names causing confusion.
