So one of our employees has left and we forgot that they were the owner our SWAY. We need to delete them and add a new administrator. Anything we can do?

Dear @FREEGARD Kate [Lancelin Primary School],

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, it appears that you would like to transfer ownership of a Sway you created to another person. Unfortunately, there is no built-in option to change the ownership of a Microsoft Sway. In fact, Sways cannot be moved from one account to another while retaining the same URL (unless the owner's account was deleted and the steps in this article are followed by the organization's admin - Reassign Sways from a deleted user account - Admin Help - Microsoft Support)As a possible workaround, you can duplicate the Sway into another account. Please note that the URL will change. Simply share the link with the new owner, have them open it, and select Duplicate this Sway. This will create a copy under their account. UntitledIf the account is still in Microsoft 365 (not deleted):

    • Ask your admin to reset the password and sign in as that user.
    • Open Sway > Share > Add your account with Can edit permission.

If the account was deleted less than 30 days ago: Admin can restore it in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Users > Deleted users > Restore.

If it’s been more than 30 days or you have no link:

You may request your IT administrator to submit a support ticket to Microsoft on your behalf. I sincerely recommend you try to create a support ticket from Microsoft 365 Admin Center>Support>New Service Request. You can raise support ticket from: https://admin.microsoft.com/#/support/requests

The support team over there has higher permission than us to investigate the issue from background, they have more resource and correct escalation channel in handling this kind of issues. This would be a more efficient way in handling the case for you.

Find Your Microsoft 365 Admin: If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your organization, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.

I hope this information is helpful. If any part of my solution is unclear, please feel free to contact me. I will be happy to provide clarification or additional information as needed. Thank you for your patience and I'm here to help. Looking forward to your response!
