Visio Standard 2024 availability/pricing should be improved

I don't understand why a Visio subscription isn't available to consumers/home 365 subscribers as an option, but it is available to business/enterprise customers. Further, it appears that if I'm interested in purchasing a Visio Standard 2024 perpetual (at least to Oct 2029) license I must create a separate MSFT account for that purchase, and cannot do so under my current Office 365 account.

Are there efforts to reconcile these? Thanks!

    Dear @Jeff Maurer,

Thank you for your thoughtful follow‑up. I appreciate you confirming what you’ve seen, and I’m sorry this isn’t the seamless home subscription experience you were hoping for.

Your feedback is extremely important especially regarding the two‑account issue and making Visio available as a consumer/home subscription. To help ensure your suggestions reach the product team directly, please submit them through the official Microsoft Feedback Portal.

    How to submit feedback:

    1. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    2. Clearly describe your suggestion or concern (e.g., “Support Visio as a Home/Consumer subscription” and “Improve two‑account handling”).
    3. Search for similar ideas and upvote them to help the team prioritize.

Please note that as community moderators, we don’t influence product design decisions, and we have limited access to advanced product roadmaps. That’s why we’re directing you to the official feedback channel this is the most effective path to get your request in front of the engineering team.

If you need any assistance with current purchase options or have additional questions, please let me know. I’m here to help.

Additionally, if the information above is helpful, please mark this reply as the answer. This helps other users with the same questions find the solution more easily and also brings more visibility to your suggestions.

    Dear @Jeff Maurer,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum, sharing your feedback and questions about Visio Standard 2024. We understand the concerns regarding subscription availability and account requirements.

    • Visio subscriptions (Plan 1 and Plan 2) are available primarily for Microsoft 365 business and enterprise customers, not for consumer/home subscriptions. These plans provide web and desktop apps with ongoing updates.
    • Visio Standard 2024 is offered as a one-time purchase (perpetual license) through the Microsoft Store and select retailers. This license is tied to a Microsoft account and cannot be merged with a Microsoft 365 consumer subscription account.

At this time, there is no announced plan to unify consumer subscriptions with Visio subscription offerings. However, your feedback is valuable and will be shared with the product team for consideration.

For more details, please refer to these official resources:

If you need advanced features without a perpetual license, Visio Plan 1 ($5/user/month) or Plan 2 ($15/user/month) may be suitable if you have access to a business Microsoft 365 account.

While I understand this may not be the seamless home subscription experience you were hoping for, your feedback is extremely important.

If you’d like to make sure your voice reaches our product team, please submit your suggestion through the official Microsoft Feedback Portal

    How to submit feedback:

    • Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    • Describe your suggestion or concern clearly.
    • You can also upvote similar ideas from other users to help prioritize them.

Once again, please notice and accept my apologies that as moderators in the community, we are not supported for the product design and have limited resources for the advanced info for Microsoft products. To help you send your feedback and requirements to the related development team, we have redirected you to the correct path.
