Dear Microsoft edge and Bing Support Team,

I’m writing to report a persistent issue accessing http://bing.com. For the past few days, I’ve been unable to load any Bing pages on any device or network—including VPN. The browser consistently shows the error message: “ERR_CONNECTION_RESET.”

This issue began shortly after Bing automatically changed my region settings. Since then, I’ve tried multiple troubleshooting steps, including:

Clearing browser cache and cookies

Resetting network settings

Disabling VPN, firewall, and browser extensions

Signing out and back into my Microsoft account

Testing across different browsers, devices, and networks

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Bing works fine for other users on the same devices and networks, which suggests the problem may be specific to my account.

I kindly request that you review and reset any region or personalization data associated with my account, as this may be causing the connection issue.

Thank you for your assistance. I appreciate your help in resolving this matter.

Best regards, PII Removed

    Hi Muhammad,

Thank you for posting on the Microsoft Q&A Forum, and for sharing the troubleshooting you’ve already tried. I understand you're facing “ERR_CONNECTION_RESET.” on Bing.

The issue with "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" error affecting Microsoft Edge and Bing on your devices, linked to your account and region settings, can indeed also be related to IPv6 and DNS configuration on Windows 11 systems.

The practical work-around many users have found effective is to disable IPv6 temporarily on your network adapter, which can prevent Windows from prioritizing IPv6 DNS lookups that fail and cause connection resets. Here is how to do this:

    1. Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
    2. Right-click your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and choose Properties.
    3. In the list, find and uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)".
    4. Click OK and restart your PC.

The initial response might not address the problem. So, if your problem persists or you need any assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Post Answer" if you cannot add comment. This helps me can read your follow up. Thanks for your effort.
