I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T495s with a Ryzen 7 pro 3700u everytime i open up a game like roblox or valorant, My CPU usage clock speed decreases from 2.7 ghz to 1.4 ghz. I had a bios update 1 week ago that momentarily fixed my issue but now it has returned.
If your BIOS has now been fully updated, go to the support page for your device on the Lenovo website, from there, download and re-install (not update) the version of AMD chipset drivers and AMD graphics drivers they provide to test if that resolves the CPU clock speed problem.
nope didnt work i installed the chipset drivers again.
Do you only have the integrated AMD graphics on your processor, or is there also a dedicated graphics card on your system, this problem with the CPU being stuck at 1.4 ghz is usually caused by a graphics setting, check in the control panel for your graphics for any setting that may be causing this.
I have an integrated GPU, Vega 10 Graphics with the ryzen 7 pro 3700u. I couldnt find any graphics setting that proves as an anomaly.
The best option then is to completely remove the current graphics driver and software using the widely available free DDU utility, then restart your PC and go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturer's website to download and install their recommended version of the graphics driver.
A slightly older version of that driver is more stable than the latest version.
Nope, Used DDU to uninstall both graphics and chipset drivers, reinstalled them through AMD Support and still encountering the same jump from 2 ghz+ to 1.4 ghz
In that case, this is most likely caused by a problem in BIOS, you will need to contact Lenovo support on their website, they may have another BIOS update to resolve the problem.
