How to zoom OUT of the calendar in new outlook

I've set up new outlook today and I can see so much of it can be personalised, but I'm struggling to change the calendar view. I want to zoom out so I can see the entirety of my day in one view on my laptop screen. Previously, I used to be able to toggle the Ctrl/Scroll up and down buttons which would adjust the view (zoom in/out) - which I can still do on Teams - but I can no longer do on Outlook. I've checked and can't seem to see any Zoom settings in help/settings either.

Hello @El G,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

Based on your information, I ‘ve tested in my environment and I can see that; just as you mentioned: the Zoom feature using Ctrl + mouse scroll still works in Outlook Classic and Microsoft Teams, but it is currently not supported in the New Outlook for Windows.

In the Classic version, you could see a zoom slider (e.g., 100%) at the bottom right corner to adjust the entire calendar view, but this option is no longer available in the New Outlook.

At the moment, the only way to adjust the view in New Outlook is by using the “Time scale” option on the toolbar. This allows you to change the time intervals (e.g., 15 minutes, 30 minutes), which helps display more time slots on the screen.

Note: However, this does not zoom the entire calendar like the previous Ctrl + scroll functionality.

So, to better support your workflow, I recommend using Outlook Web as a workaround if you need the Zoom feature, since it still supports this functionality.

Additionally, since this is by design and New Outlook is still evolving, and I believe this feature will likely be considered in upcoming releases. Your feedback will help Microsoft prioritize improvements for user experience.

I highly recommend submitting feedback through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub:

  • Go to Help => Feedback => Send Feedback
  • Describe your suggestions in detail.

I truly appreciate you're understanding and patience as Microsoft continues to evolve the platform. I’ll also submit feedback myself, as it’s clear that many users are experiencing the same issue.

If you've already submitted feedback, please share the link here. That way, not only me but others who share the same idea will know how to raise their own feedback and can support yours, helping the development team become aware of it.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
