Excel becomes unresponsive when opening a new workbook on MacBook Air M2

Other Office Apps: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook show similar behavior when opening a new file.

Add-ins or customizations: None installed.

File storage location: Files are stored locally on the device (not on OneDrive or external drives).

The issue occurs consistently: when a workbook or document is already open, attempting to open a new one (via menu or keyboard shortcut) causes the application to freeze and requires a force quit.

I haven't adopted Tahoe so I can't offer much. Neither have I seen any similar reports.

Does the same issue occur with other Office programs or with non-Microsoft programs?

If you create a New Standard User Account does the issue occur when running Excel as that user?

I have the same question. Every time i came across "not responding" problem. the same OS, but Microsoft Office Version: Version 16.102.3. I used chatgpt and tried reinstalling, clearing cashes, removing add-ins..., But the sam issue occures.
