remove members from Loop workspace

I understand how confusing it feels when you can’t remove someone from your Loop workspace even though you share it yourself.

This usually happens because the option to remove members only appears if you’re the owner of the workspace.

If you shared it as a member, or if it’s connected to a Teams channel or Microsoft 365 group, the permissions are controlled from there instead, not directly in Loop.

Let’s check a couple of things: can you confirm if you created the workspace yourself, or was it made inside a Teams channel?

If you’re using the web version at loop.cloud.microsoft.com, try clicking the workspace name then click Members (top right corner) to see if there’s a “Remove” button next to the person’s name.

If not, it likely means the workspace is managed elsewhere, and we can go through the steps to update membership from Teams or Microsoft 365 instead.

Thanks for checking that and confirming you’re the owner, that helps narrow it down.

Since you created the workspace but still don’t see the Remove button, this usually means the feature isn’t fully available in your version of Loop yet.

Microsoft is still rolling out workspace management updates, and some tenants only have the “edit roles” option for now.

Just to double-check, are you using the web version of Loop at loop.cloud.microsoft.com, or the desktop/app version?

The removal option generally appears only on the web interface.

If you’re already there and still don’t see it, try signing out and back in, then check if the workspace might be linked to a Teams channel or Microsoft 365 group, if it is, member access is controlled through that group instead of Loop.

Got it, thanks for confirming all that, you’ve done all the right checks. Since you’re the owner, using the browser version, and the workspace isn’t tied to Teams or a Microsoft 365 group, it sounds like this is a feature limitation on Microsoft’s side. The “remove member” option is still in gradual rollout, so some users can view members and change roles, but can’t revoke access yet.

In the meantime, the only reliable way to remove someone is to duplicate the workspace (which keeps all your pages and components) and then share the new one only with the people you want to keep.

It’s a bit of a workaround, but it’s the current method until full access controls are released.
