Bug with the tag creator

Hello,

When I try to create or personalize a tag on the OneNote macOS app, a side window opens. However, this window remains blank and I can't do anything. My app seems to be up to date (16.102.1), and I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but the bug is still there. I downloaded the app through the Mac App Store and my macOS version is 26.0.1. Unfortunately, it is not possible to customize tags on the web version of OneNote.

I am attaching a screenshot of the issue:

Thank you in advance for your help.

I am experiencing the same issue and tried both solutions provided above and neither worked. Does Francisco have any other ideas?

    Hello,

You are hitting a stuck side-pane in OneNote for Mac. The quickest fix that usually works is to reset OneNote's local cache and preferences so the tag editor is rebuilt.

Please do this in order. First make sure every notebook shows synced. Then quit OneNote completely.

Open Finder. Press Command+Shift+G and paste ~/Library/Containers. Find the folder named com.microsoft.onenote.mac and move it to the Trash, or rename it to com.microsoft.onenote.mac.old.

Press Command+Shift+G again and go to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office. If you see a OneNote or OneNote-related folder there, move it to the Trash too, or rename it to .old. Do not touch anything for other Office apps. Emptying the Trash is not required.

Now start OneNote, sign in, let it resync, and try Create a tag again. This does not delete cloud notes. Only unsynced local changes would be lost, so doing the Sync check at the start is important.

Tell me how it goes and I will take the next step if needed.
