Protection against phishing, malware, and other threats targeting email and collaboration tools in Microsoft 365
Microsoft Defender Preset Policy Standard with Quarantine Notification enabled.
We are currently using the Standard preset policy configuration in Microsoft Defender for Office 365. Our requirement is that users must be able to preview quarantined messages flagged by anti-phishing and spam filters directly from notification emails. However, the Standard preset policy has quarantine notifications disabled by default and locks the notification settings, preventing any customization. Even custom policies appear to be ignored due to preset enforcement. We are unable to locate the “Quarantine notifications” section in the Defender portal, which suggests it may be suppressed by the active preset. Please advise how we can enable quarantine notifications for spam and phishing while keeping the Standard preset policy enabled, or confirm whether this functionality is entirely blocked under preset enforcement.
