How do I contact Microsoft Support ?

My old, dying, Lenovo T420 failed completely before I could uninstall Office 2019. It won't even start up.

I have the .iso used originally to install Office 2019, so I used that to install Office 2019 on an old Dell Latitude. It's running properly but will time out if I don't activate by November 11.

I tried activating with the old key but got a 0xC004C060 error indicating an invalid key. My guess that's because Microsoft thinks Office is still installed on the old, dead, PC.

If I can't boot up the old PC and uninstall Office, how do I contact Microsoft to get them to de-activate the key on the dead Lenovo so that I can use it on the Dell?

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

You’re absolutely right, the error code 0xC004C060 usually means that your Office 2019 key is still tied to your old Lenovo, which unfortunately can’t be deactivated automatically if the device no longer starts.

It’s also worth noting that as of today, October 14, 2025, Microsoft has ended support for Office 2019, so phone and chat support are no longer officially available. Reference: https://support.microsoft.com/office/end-of-support-for-office-2016-and-office-2019-818c68bc-d5e5-47e5-b52f-ddf636cf8e16

However, you can still try reaching Microsoft Support directly using these steps:

  • Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
  • Type this keyword and press Enter: Contact Support.
  • At the bottom, click "Sign in to contact support" and sign in with your Personal Microsoft account (Not work or school account), or click "Contact Support" if you're already signed in.
  • In Product and services, select "Windows".
  • In Category, select "Technical support."
  • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

If you ever find yourself stuck in a loop, please use the keywords "Contact Support" or "Live Chat" (without the quotes) and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.

I really hope this information is helpful!
