mic is not working for all bluetooth headset. The bluetooth show connected with both sound and mic, but there are none of Window program can access the mic function. FYI, before the Window Updates, everything is fine.

I have tried all the things others in this thread have tried and nothing has worked. Updating my system and drivers have not helped either. Rolling back updates is not an option for my work computer. When will Microsoft fix this?

I had this same issue, where all Bluetooth earphones (neckband with mic) started showing just "connected audio" and no mic after updating windows 11 on my laptop in December. I did everything suggested to solve this problem but nothing worked. I have intel EVO Laptop
SOLUTION: First remove all saved Bluetooth devices from your PC. Then open device manager, go to "Audio inputs and outputs" dropdown section and remove all Bluetooth devices. then restart your device. These steps finally SOLVED MY PROBLEM.
In my case, it started showing "connected mic, audio" under my Bluetooth audio device name whichever I paired with my PC and in all others (Bluetooth earphones too) too. Mic also started working too as I did a zoom call after this process.

At the beginning, switching Bluetooth off and on helped, but only while the headset stayed powered on. After turning the headset off and back on, the issue reappeared.
Now it’s permanent. Nothing helps - new suggested BT firmware, unpairing and pairing again, removing the Bluetooth device, etc.
I’m using a Poly Voyager Surround 80 headset, but I also tried with Bose - same result.
The Poly headset works fine when using the BT700 external dongle.-

We have round about 30+ Users which are affected with this Problem, as a workaround we are wiring the Headsets with USB Cable... looks like the only way to get the microphone working.

I have been using a cable with my Bose headset as a workaround and fortunately the laptop actually has a 3.5mm port to support it!

2025-11-07T10:56:02.3266667+00:00 Seems a fairly wide range of headsets, and ages too. I have problems with Bose QC 35 II, Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel buds 2a, but people have mentioned Yealink, Poly and I'm sure there were others too.

The IT department at my company has now thrown up their hands and just said that they no longer support bluetooth devices with our Windows laptops. If I want bluetooth to work, I have to switch to an Apple laptop.
