How do I change the ALL DAY EVENT reminder to come at 8am instead of 9am?

Basically, having any calendar alert for an All Day event at 9am, is late. How can I adjust this so it reminds me of an All Day event before my day "begins" I would love this to be customizable to the Day as sometimes my day may start at 7:30 so my reminder would be best for that ALL Day event to be at 7am.

Dear Sherri Velasco,

Thank you for posting your question to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

That's an excellent observation, and you are correct. In the New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the Web, the reminder options for "All-day" events are currently set default at 9:00 AM or 5:00 PM. However, there is an effective workaround that will give you the precise reminder time you need. Instead of creating an "All-day" event, you can create a timed event that spans the whole day and set your availability to "Free".

Here are the steps to get the exact reminder time you want:

  1. Create your new event. Do not check the "All day" box.
  2. Set the Start time and End time to span your typical day. For example, you could set it from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  3. In the Reminder dropdown menu, select the exact time you want your notification. To get a reminder at 7:00 AM, you can set the event to start at 8:00 AM and choose a reminder of "1 hour before".
  4. This is the most important step: Find the Show As dropdown menu (it usually defaults to Busy). Change this setting to Free. It ensures that this event doesn't block your calendar and people can still schedule meetings with you.

By using this method, you can combine the custom reminder flexibility of a regular event with the non-intrusive nature of an all-day event. I hope this helps you get your calendar reminders exactly when you need them! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
