Security Information update pending 3 years

I change my old phone number in May 2022 and it has been pending since thay day and never updated. Now because i do not have the old number i can not log into my account. The security update did not allow me to add my account to a new authenticator so i do not have access to the 2 options available to recover my account. I have contacted microsoft 9 times already, done the recover form 11 times and microsoft has escalated the issue 2x but no results. I have over $2000 worth games and contents on that account and a game pass subscription linked to a bank card but idk which one and can not replace them all. Can anyone help or should i just drop mycrosoft completely due to this stupid self help system they have? No phone options and they can not access their own data to help customers. My neighbor suggest i go the legal route because the issue happened due to their system failing to finish the phone number update and their inabilityto fix their mistake cost me that money put into that account. Idk what to do.
