Dear William Howard
Thanks for reaching out! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. I'm Haien from Microsoft Q&A.
The "Session Expired" message, especially when it just started happening, is most often caused by a conflict with your browser’s stored data (cookies). These cookies are essential for maintaining your active Microsoft sign-in status. That is a common report recently and our Team Development were trying to fix it.
Here are some effective workarounds that you can try until have newest information:
- Check your time zone by going to Settings > Time & language > Date & time > Ensure "Set time automatically" and "Set time zone automatically" are both turned On.
- Ensure your PC has fully updated by going Settings > Update & Security (Win 10) or Windows Update (Win 11) > Check for updates > Install any available.
- Open Microsoft Edge (recommended for MSN)
- Ensure your Microsoft Edge has fully updated by going to Settings > About Microsoft Edge > Update if prompted
- Go to account.microsoft.com > sign out completely > Close your browser > Reopen it > Sign in again.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete > select "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" (last 24 hours or All time), then clear
- Try commenting on an MSN article right away
