Hi @AJ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Regarding your question about where Teams stores its transcripts, I’d be happy to provide the information you need along with some documentation on Microsoft transcript handling to support your project.

In Microsoft Teams, meeting transcripts are typically stored in OneDrive for Business or SharePoint, depending on how the meeting was scheduled:

According to Teams meeting recording and transcript storage and permissions in OneDrive and SharePoint:

  • Private Meetings (1:1, group calls, ad-hoc meetings): Transcripts are stored in the organizer’s OneDrive for Business, typically in the Recordings folder.
OneDrive > Recordings > [Meeting Name].vtt (or .docx if exported)
  • Channel Meetings (scheduled in a Teams channel): Transcripts are stored in the team’s SharePoint site associated with the team, under:
SharePoint > [Team Name] > Documents > Recordings > [Meeting Name].vtt
  • Shared Mailbox Scheduled Meetings: If scheduled using a shared mailbox, the transcript is stored in the shared mailbox’s OneDrive (if available).
  • File Format Transcripts are saved as .VTT or .DOCX files and follow the same retention and access policies as other OneDrive/SharePoint content.
