How to manipulate XML messages with Business Rules

Hi,

I'm facing an issue while using Rule Composer to manipulate XML messages.

I created a RuleSet that have to create a new node on an XML message (using XMLHelper from Microsoft.Azure.Workflows.RuleEngine)

Unfortunately, the rule didn't fire and the XML is not updated.

Did you already faced this issue?

Hello Mohamed BENDAOU,

The rule will not fire if the condition is not met. Your condition is:

---schInvoice-Canonical:/Invoice/Id is equal to 123---

Confirm the actual XML message has the value 123 in the /Invoice/Id field.

Make sure there are no leading/trailing spaces or type mismatches

If you can provide a sample of the input XML, I can help confirm the XPath and namespace correctness.

I confirm that the condition is met:

When I remove the action: XmlHelper.AddNode, the rule fires correctly!

I confirm!

However, I need to use XMLHelper.AddNode to update the XML message based on conditions!

I don't get why the rule doesn't fire when using action with AddNode!
