DNS stops working on my Windows computer

Hello.

I'm constantly losing internet access on my Windows PC due to DNS failures. Websites fail to load with DNS errors, but my network connection is solid, and other devices are unaffected. The standard troubleshooting step of flushing the DNS cache only provides a temporary fix, and I'm looking for a more permanent solution to stop my DNS from randomly stopping.

What could be causing this recurring issue, and what steps have successfully resolved it for others?

Method 1: Perform Network troubleshooter

Select Start> Settings> Network & Internet> Status.

Under Change your network settings, select Network troubleshooter.

Method 2: Reinstall Network adapter.

In the search box on the Taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.

In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name. Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.

After uninstalling the driver, select the Start button > Power > Restart.

After your PC restarts, Windows will automatically look for and install the network adapter driver.

Check to see if that fixes your connection problem.
