Can not login to my GroupMe account

So I got temporaily suspended on GroupMe and I appealed the suspension and it was granted. However, when I tried loggin back into my account it would always say incorrect information entered, and when I would try to reset the password it would not send me an email. Moreover, I tried making a new account with the same phone number but it wouldn't allow me too. When I tried signing in via the web version it would say error and contact microsoft support. I really need my GroupMe account back and do not know what to do.

    A GroupMe account is separate from a Microsoft account, even though GroupMe is owned by Microsoft. Resetting your Microsoft account password will not affect your GroupMe login.
