How to remove personal Account from inactive Tenant.

Hello,

My personal Microsoft Account has been linked to a tenant, which seem to have been either deleted or inactive. I'm trying to leave the organisation but get message - You're the only Admin...". If I try to access via Azure Portal, I get a AADSTS5000225 "Tenant blocked due to inactivity..." error.

I just want to remove my association from the organisation but seems stuck in a loop here. Tried via https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations and unable to login as I get "This email address is not recognised..." error.

Anyone else have had this issue or any ideas how to remove my Email address? Seems this tenant has long being closed.

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Q&A. As I understand your account in provisioned in a tenant and you want to remove yourself from the directory

You can follow below steps to remove yourself from that directory

If you're using a personal account and are part of a any other tenant which you want to leave then, you'll need to use a My Account URL that includes your tenant's name or tenant ID and perform below steps:

For example: https://myaccount.microsoft.com?tenantId=contoso.onmicrosoft.com or https://myaccount.microsoft.com?tenantId=ab123456-cd12-ef12-gh12-ijk123456789. (Replace contoso.onmicrosoft.com or ab123456-cd12-ef12-gh12-ijk123456789 with the Entra ID tenant name)

You might need to open this URL in a private browser session.

Select Organizations from the left navigation pane or select the Manage organizations link from the Organizations block.

The Organizations page appears, where you can view and manage the organizations you belong to.

You can click on leave and leave the organization.

If you select Leave for an organization but you see the following message, it means you’ll need to contact the organization's admin, or privacy contact and ask them to remove you from their organization.

I tried the above steps however, clicking on the Leave button, a new page gets open where I get the above-mentioned error. I get the same message, whichever way I try - Both tenant ID and name.

Looks like the same is happening because the tenant likely has been deleted due to inactivity and my External ID has somehow been left orphaned.

Unable to contact organisation and seems they have left the business now.

Thanks for the links but I'm unable to use the two links as it keeps error saying only work email can be used.

I tried https://myapps.microsoft.com/ and that brings up the screenshot you pasted. I see the following screen

If I try to "Leave" the first one ending with "2aa", I get the same, I get the same "We could not sign you in" error. Not too sure what the "Default Directory (Signed In) is.
