Touchpad Settings Missing in Windows 11

While searching for settings related to two-finger gestures, it was discovered that all touchpad settings have completely disappeared in Windows 11. What steps can be taken to restore these settings? The driver is up to date, and several restarts have been attempted without success. An external mouse works fine, and the touchpad is functioning, but the settings for the touchpad are not visible to make adjustments. I've also attached a screenshot for reference, please guide me to get back the settings which have been disappeared.

Same issue recently came up with my ASUS laptop, running Windows 11 Home (ver 10.2....) The pad works for moving the cursor, but I can't drag and drop, I can't highlight, I can't double click to get the proper spelling of a word. This started about 6 weeks ago. I can plug in a mouse and these functions are all there, but I'd rather use the touchpad.

Advanced touchpad options, such as two-finger gestures, scrolling, sensitivity, and so on, are typically enabled through the dedicated driver provided by the laptop manufacturer. If Windows installs a generic driver, the touchpad may function, but these customization options often remain inaccessible. Additionally, updating the driver via Device Manager does not always guarantee installation of the manufacturer's full-featured driver, which is essential for unlocking the complete set of touchpad settings.

Please clarify the following:

What is the manufacturer and model of your computer?

If you prefer, you can share a screenshot of your system information.

Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Could you kindly guide me through the specific steps to:

Download the correct manufacturer's driver from Lenovo's official website

Install the full-featured driver properly to restore the touchpad settings

I don't have the drag and drop feature or the spelling error suggestions any longer on my touchpad. The touchpad works, but not these functions.

I have a Dell Alienware 17 R5 that has the exact same issue Tharun K has - the same options showing in Windows Settings, Bluetooh & Devices > Touchpad. Likewise, my touchpad works - but I cannot access any further controls for gestures, button assignments, or even scroll direction. If I click the 'More Touchpad Settings' option, i get options for a mouse, with no touchpad settings. I've installed the drivers direct from Dell, used their command center to install drivers, and installed the Dell Touchpad Driver app from the Windows store, not have fixed the issue. Any help would be much appreciated

I can't believe no one at MICROSOFT (or ASUS) is addressing this issue. I finally had to buy a mouse, just so I can highlight a passage and cut and paste things from my laptop.

Since your device is a Lenovo, a good starting point would be to use Lenovo Vantage to install or update the drivers. Ideally, it should take care of everything automatically and install all the necessary components for your Touchpad to function fully.

If Lenovo Vantage doesn't resolve the issue, no problem. I'll guide you through the steps to manually install the drivers and get everything working properly.

Download and install Lenovo Vantage using the Microsoft Store (Link below). Then, use it to update and install all the drivers on your PC.

You need to install Lenovo Vantage and then use it to install/update your drivers. Just installing the app will not install/update the drivers.
