Azure VM File recovery Error

Hi Jain Navin Kumar, Could you please share the exact error message you're encountering? This would help narrow down the problem further.

Hello I have attached the PNG file are you able to open that ?, it says You have enabled Private endpoint for the Vault, which is not the case with the setup.

Hello Navin, kumar,

That error usually appears when the vault’s networking is restricted even if no private endpoint is configured, if public network access is set to Disabled, the script interprets it as private access only. A Private Endpoint was created earlier and not fully cleaned up sometimes stale entries or a DNS override can make the script think a private endpoint exists. DNS resolution issue if the vault DNS name resolves to a private IP (because of a private DNS zone like privatelink.vaultcore.azure.net linked to your VNet), the script assumes a private endpoint is in use.

Ensure Public network access is set to Enabled (at least while you do the file recovery). Confirm that no private endpoint connections are listed. Go back to Backup items → Select your VM → File Recovery. Generate a fresh PowerShell script and run it on the target machine.

I hope this helps and do let me know if you have any questions
