I am using Edge on android. On my phone some apps open urls and edge gives the option to open a relevant app instead. However, the option to open the app vanishes in a fraction of a second and the web page loads instead. How do I fix this.
For example, I have some accounting software on my phone and when I use this to pay a bill it directs to my banking web page, opened by Edge. A menu flashes up to ask me if I want to remain on the web page or go to my banking app, but this menu disappears too quickly and I end up on the banking web page.
This all worked smoothly on my previous (motorolla) phone, but no longer functions on my new (samsung) phone.

Masoud 5 Reputation points2026-02-02T00:18:15.0566667+00:00 I have the same issue. I tried all the recommended steps from Microsoft but it didn't fix the issue. I had no choice but switching to chrome app which works perfectly fine and doesn't block my bank app jump.

Been using it for a while now and works perfect. Prefer Edge, but if Microsoft cannot solve the problem then I have no choice but to switch. Hope they fix the security issues one day but at the moment I feel they're not taking it seriously. Maybe a bit of communication on how they are trying to fix it would give me more confidence.

2026-01-01T14:49:41.3533333+00:00 The Itsme and edge combination still doesn't work. I reinstalled Itsme but no use. I tried all settings in edge no use... Strangely it worked in the past. So annoyed that this still isnt resolved after all this months. Microsoft make it work please.

The popup that asks if I want to open in the app briefly appears and then vanishes.
It's definitely an Edge issue, because if I am fast enough I can catch the button before it disappears and it opens the app and performs that action just fine. It hasn't been an issue until recently.
I've tried reinstalling and checking that opening apps isn't disabled, deleting site data/cookies etc.
