Does not work for me. Icons are blank last two months. Teams, Phone Link, Snipping Tool and some others. Others are fine. Tried every solution I could found on internet. If I create a new user profile icons are fine.
Most of the icons on my taskbar aren't showing. They are just grey.
the icons on my taskbar are not showing but only grey boxes. Although I can open the app by clicking the icon but it still doesn't show. I have added the image below.

Based on your description and the image provided, it appears that your taskbar icons are displaying as grey boxes due to a corrupted icon cache or a system-level rendering issue in Windows 11.
To resolve this, we recommend the following steps:
- Restart Windows Explorer via Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc > right-click “Windows Explorer” > Restart).
- Rebuild the icon cache by deleting the
iconcachefiles located inC:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer, then restart your device. - If the issue persists, try running the following commands in an elevated Command Prompt:
sfc /scannow-
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
As a final step, consider creating a new user profile to test if the issue is profile-specific.
Let us know if you need assistance performing these steps or if the issue continues after troubleshooting.
Best regards,
Quinnie Quoc.
