Syncing Tab Groups in Microsoft Edge on iPad Not Working After iOS Update

I am having trouble syncing tab groups to my iPad. I am signed in to Edge with sync enabled and default browser set to Edge on my computer, iPhone, and iPad, but tab groups will not sync on my iPad. My computer and iPhone sync seamlessly and iPad syncs all history, etc. but not tab groups. How do I enable? I have tried updating iOS, deleting and reinstalling Edge, updating Edge app, sign out of Edge and resync, etc. My iPad is running iOS 18.6 and Edge version 139.0.3405.101

    Okay, here's why Tab Groups Sync Between iPhone and PC but Not iPad

    1. Open Tabs sync is supported on all platforms. When you group tabs on desktop Edge, the structure of that session can sometimes carry over when viewed in mobile Edge (iPhone) because the “tab view” on iOS is simplified and Edge treats them as part of the same synced open tab set.
    2. On iPadOS, Edge is built differently. Microsoft treats the iPad app as closer to a “desktop-class” browser (with tab strip, multi-window support, split view, etc.), and for now tab group metadata isn’t included in the sync pipeline for iPad. → So the iPad sees just the raw open tabs, without the group wrappers.

    At the moment: no direct way. iPad Edge just doesn’t support syncing tab group state yet. But you can try the workarounds I provided above.

    You're experiencing a known limitation: Microsoft Edge currently does not support syncing tab groups across devices, including iPad, even though individual tabs, history, favorites, collections, etc. do sync.

    Tab groups are not among the data types Edge syncs across devices. Only Collections, Favorites, History, open tabs, and similar elements are syncable.

    Workarounds and Alternatives

    1. Use Workspaces

    This feature (introduced around Edge version 114) lets you create and access named browsing "workspaces" that carry across devices when signed in. It’s not real-time tab group syncing, but it achieves similar organization.

    2. Use Extensions like Tabox

    You can use extensions such as Tabox – Save and Share Tabs, which let you save a group of open tabs (even with grouping information) and then restore them on another device.

    Note: Extensions like this may not be available or functional on iOS/iPad due to platform restrictions.

    3. Send Tabs Manually

    Edge's “Send tab to device” function lets you manually forward individual tabs, but not entire groups, to another device.
