I want to make a test call but the button doesn't appear where it should.

I do have the same problem. Below you can see screenshots of what my Teams settings look like. Test "anything" buttons? Nowhere in settings, only in the pre-meeting dialog (third attached screenshot).

The best thing? Finding out just before interview that not the mic nor the speaker work in that "test call" (still referring to the third screenshot). Camera does though, as can be partially seen on that screenshot.

Both mic and speaker work when testing using Windows Settings. The same happens in the Teams web app, the same when I log in with my university account.

Teams version - 26213.1006.5014.9784. Windows version - 25H2 (OS Build 26200.9168).

As already pointed out in the answer provided by EmilyS726 Independent Advisor, the "Make test call" feature is not available in personal accounts. This feature is only available in Teams Business account.

Unfortunately, the "Test mic and speaker" feature is not reliable and might be confusing.

As a rule, the microphone test is working, and if you can hear the playback for the microphone test, then this means that both microphone and speaker work. Nothing to worry about.

Hello,

Are you referring to the test call button in Settings? If so, that's a feature in Teams business edition, not for Teams on personal account.

However, if you are a Skype migrated user, you can run test call this way:

Search for "Echo / Sound Testing Service"

When found, send a testing message to it first. Then you will find the audio and video call icons to test the call.
