It gave him an error code: creeper, and when I logged into my Microsoft account it welcomed his player name. He still couldn't log in on his Switch.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

The error "Creeper" in Minecraft usually appears if you have poor internet connectivity. Turn off any VPN or firewall if enabled.

Next, disconnect your internet and then reconnect it. After that, restart Minecraft and wait for the background process to finish.

If you're still experiencing issues, try connecting your device to a different Wi-Fi network to see if it helps.

If you're using the Minecraft launcher and having this issue, you can also sign out and sign in.

    1. Start the Minecraft Launcher.
    2. Click the dropdown menu in the top left corner with your Gamertag.
    3. Select Log out.
    4. Click Microsoft Login and sign back in.
    5. Select Sign in with a different account if you need to switch accounts, or press Let's Go to continue.

Let me know how it goes.
