Same issue with a Lenovo laptop used an account that is an administrator in office365 and same issue with this one I have tried to enable the administrator account, and it will enable on the recovery but won't survive reboot into regular mode

I purchased a new Lenovo laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 11 to help start a small business. I went through the Windows 11 setup and was never asked about administrator privileges. I then tried to download Microsoft Office but was asked for an admin name and password. When I entered my name and password I was told this download requires elevation. I tried to do a bunch of other things but even the "run" command requires elevation. There is no admin account on this computer and I'm the only user (for now). How can I make myself an admin? This is driving me crazy.

Walter Underwood 0 Reputation points2026-01-08T16:05:09.89+00:00 Setting the user as "Microsoft Entra Joined Device Local Administrator" in MS identity. (Entra) is what can fix this. This is done in the online Microsoft Administration for the domain or tenant that the login email is managed by.
