Cannot transcribe an audio file in Word. Dictate drop down menu appears, but no transcrube option.

Which office suite do you have? Some features are only available if you have a subscription. You also need to enable Connected Experiences in File > Accounts > Manage settings button under the privacy heading.

When this happened for me, I ended up using the web version at word.cloud.microsoft and the transcribe option was in the dropdown and it worked there for me even though it didn't show in the dropdown on the desktop site.
