How do I turn Co-Pilot off?

I hate it, it's driving me crazy. The cursor sits on top of my writing. Also, why do I have to sign into 365 using my email every time I want to use Word. I am a luddite and hate the tech advancements, I'm honestly thinking of getting a typewriter.

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A.To disable Windows Copilot on Windows 11, you can try following these methods:

Remove Copilot in Settings:
- Go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar
- Find Copilot and toggle the switch to Off
- Restart the computer for changes to take effect
Disable Copilot using Group Policy:
- Press Windows + R, type "gpedit.msc" > Enter
- Select User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot
- Double-click Turn off Windows Copilot > Enable > Apply > OK
Edit Windows Registry:
- Press Windows + R, type "regedit" > Enter
- Paste this path into the address bar: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
- Right-click inside the window, select New > choose DWORD (32-bit) Value

Right-click New Key #1 and rename it to DisableCopilot
Double-click DisableCopilot > Set Value data to 1 > OK
Restart the computer

I have followed the directions here, and Copilot keeps returning, like a racist relative at holiday gatherings. no one invited them, there is no opt opt, and it keeps reactivating in Bing Search. Please make it opt out. This is horrible.

Hi Bryan, thanks for this reply but I can't even do step one. Settings where? On what? Word? Finder? I can't see anywhere that would take me to the place your images show. Can you show me where from my screen shot please. I'm using an iMac and have no idea what version of Windows I have, if any. Thank you

I hate copilot cannot get rid of the dam thing from 365 if you do not turn if off I will cancel my subscription and find a new programme to wiork with even if I have to remove Window from my PC and revert to anything else. I haven't even downloaded iot and yet it is still there get rid of it.
