I can’t send or receive email

Hi Microsoft Support,

I hope you're well.

I'm currently experiencing an issue with my Hotmail email account (******@hotmail.com). The system is stating that my mailbox is full and is preventing me from sending or receiving emails. However, when I checked my storage settings, it shows that I’m using 0 GB out of 0 GB — meaning I have no available storage at all, even though I have deleted all emails from my Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Junk, and all other folders.

It appears that my email storage quota has been incorrectly set to 0 GB, which I believe may be a system error or account issue.

Could you please review and restore the appropriate storage capacity to my account so I can resume using my email as normal?

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards, Tiana Renda ******@hotmail.com

Hi Tiana,

Thank you for bringing this to the community's attention.

Based on the details you’ve provided, it appears that your mailbox quota has been incorrectly set to 0 GB, which is preventing you from sending or receiving emails. This is not expected behavior and is likely the result of a misconfiguration or a backend issue affecting your Microsoft account.

Recommended Actions:

Verify via Outlook Web Sign in to https://outlook.live.com and check your storage settings under: Settings > View all Outlook settings > General > Storage. If the quota still displays as 0 GB, proceed to the next steps.

Use a Different Browser or Clear Cache Sometimes cached data can cause incorrect display values. Try accessing your account using a different browser or in private/incognito mode.

Review Account Status Visit https://account.microsoft.com to ensure your Microsoft account is in good standing and not subject to any limitations or verification requests.

Contact Microsoft Support Directly As this appears to be a backend issue, I recommend reaching out to Microsoft Support for further investigation and resolution: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

Be sure to provide them with the full details, including your Hotmail address and any steps you've already taken to troubleshoot.
