Word Ipad scrolls back to where cursor is, and also some keystrokes are being missed

Recently Word on Ipad is having some issues:

  1. It scrolls back to where cursor is, which makes it very unusable. Basically I cannot use it at all for my writing.
  2. Some keystrokes get missed.

I have already done these trouble shootings: updated my Ipad (maybe this was the cause of the problem because I didn't notice this issue until then), updated to latest Word, uninstalled and reinstalled word, offloaded word app from Ipad storage and reinstalled it, hard restarted my device. I use this app frequently so am very familiar with it. Also, I tried testing other writing tools such as OneNote and Ipad Notes app, but have not had this same issue.

System Info:

Ipad Pro 11inch 3rd Generation, Ipad OS 18.4, Word version 2.95.3.

Microsoft 365 and Office | Word | For home | iOS

    Does the problem still exist if you switch between touch screen and keyboard?

    It's not unheard of for an app to become incompatible or have issues when an Ipad OS is updated. Go to the Apple store where the app is located, and see if it says what OS is required, and if anyone else is reporting a problem. Be sure to include your comment.

    Hello. Yes, it does also happen when the keyboard is disconnected. I can't see where it mentions the Ipad OS version on the App store, it only mentions that it is compatible with Ipad as far as I can see. Since my post there was a new version of the Word on Ipad, version 2.95.4, but after updating to that I'm still having the issue. In the app store reviews someone reported cursor glitches recently, on Sunday, when I noticed this issue as well.

    I am seeing the same thing as well after a recent app update. At first I thought I hadn’t yet had enough coffee to type properly, but then realized it wasn’t me. No matter what keyboard I use, and only in Word, random keystrokes get missed/dropped. Does not happen anywhere else. Kind of a fatal bug for a Word Processor…..
