new version of O365 home page?

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your question regarding the new Office 365 interface following the integration of Microsoft 365 Copilot. 

We’d like to provide more clarity on these changes and guide you on how to access the Quick Access file list – a familiar feature from the previous layout. 

The Office.com homepage has recently been updated to integrate Copilot, an AI assistant designed to help you search, create content, and access documents using natural language. 

The previous interface, which included sections like “Recommended” and “Quick Access,” is no longer displayed directly. However, those files still exist and can be accessed through the Search feature. 

Currently, Microsoft does not offer an option to revert to the old interface or disable Copilot on the homepage. 

How to Access the Quick Access File List 

1. Go to https://office.com and sign in as usual.
2. On the left sidebar (or top menu on mobile), click the Search (magnifying glass) icon.
3. In the Search interface, you’ll see sections such as: 
   1. Pick up where you left off: Recently used files
   2. Shared: Files shared with you
   3. Favorites: Files you’ve marked as favorites

You can click on any file to open it, or use filters to narrow down your search. 

Hovering over a file will show a preview and summary (for Office documents), helping you identify it without opening. 

Alternative Options 

• Go directly to OneDrive at https://onedrive.com to view recent files.
• Launch specific apps directly, e.g., Word: https://office.com/launch/word
• Use the Microsoft 365 app on desktop or mobile – this interface still shows recent files and is less affected by Copilot changes.

Who at Microsoft thought this would be a good idea? From a useful landing page, the suggestion is to use search to find the tools you need? The user experience is now terrible. Please stop introducing changes. This needs to be opt in. Please put the original homepage back. Am thinking of the millions of support desk calls happening right now.

It's baffling a tech giant like Microsoft can bring out something as awful as this. You literally disabled access to Microsoft 365 apps.

yes, I figured out all that on my own. quick access was the list of all files I: interacted with, created, shared, was shared with me. I used it multiple times a day!!!

seriously, this update is garbage. I feel like it's a HUGE attempt to hoist Copilot on us. I use Copilot but I don't need it here!
