new version of O365 home page?

This isn't helpful. Please bring back:

• App Launcher Menu
• Old UI layout

Copilot doesn't need to be front and center. What people use every day for their work does.

This forced, unholy trainwreckof an Office 365 layout change is nothing short of a colossal failure; an embarrassment of decision-making that has decimated productivity, sabotaged functionality, and left users in a state of absolute chaos. Who at Microsoft greenlit this mess? Who thought that it would be a great idea to obliterate usability, make basic operations a nightmare, break compatibility with major browsers, and render essential features incomprehensibly difficult to access?  This is not innovation, it is active sabotage of a system that worked fine before this disaster was forced upon us.Let’s be clear: this redesign is not an upgrade. It is a degradation of everything that made Office 365 remotely efficient. Files are lost in a labyrinth, apps are malfunctioning, and workflows have been thrown into disarray. And the worst part? You gave users**no choice. No option to revert. No warning. Just a slap in the face and an expectation to deal with it.**I have personally lost an entire week struggling with this broken, convoluted abomination of a layout; time that will never be recovered. And I am just one of countless users who now find their work routines hijacked by Microsoft’s complete disregard for functionality and user experience.**This needs to be undone. Now.**Microsoft must IMMEDIATELYrestore the previous layout option, or face the justified backlash of users who refuse to be held hostage by a platform that has abandoned them.

I find this annoying and counter productive. Having trained us to find all MS office products in one place, we are now being herded to a single product. Most of my daily tasks do not require AI, and I avoid increasing my personal environmental footprint exponentially for every simple task. I am perfectly capable of finding AI when I require it.

I think what we are all looking for is this:

No not really.

For one thing, they've added a bunch of filters there which makes it harder to find things if you don't know what filter MS think it belongs under. E.g. productivity, utilities, education etc. So it takes longer than looking down an alpha list. https://myapplications.microsoft.com/ is a better option if you just need to find an app.

For another, Apps really isn't the issue. Sure, losing the 9 dots is a challenge (and a crazy decision given that it's there for everything else and has been core design language for well over a decade), but the apps button is pretty clear and was there before anyway.

It's things like recent files - the most common reason people go to that home page - being now hidden behind one click on Search, and then behind that click there are more clicks, because:

• they've shortened the recent items list - in order to create three much shorter and therefore less useful lists.  

- Favourites is at the *bottom*, Quick Access is at the top, (without an obvious difference as to what makes one appear in one vs the other), and then inexplicably Shared in the middle. In any case why would your favourites be at the bottom?!!!

So that should've been kept as one big list, with Favourites, Shared, or whatever else just as added filters, if MS are so keen on people using filters.

More crazy decisions:

• Doing all this without allowing folk to set their default side bar "app", crazy. Forcing a chat bot as the default just puts people's back up if they just want to find their damn files. There's not even a signpost to say 'want a full view of all your files and quick access areas? Try OneDrive for the Web!' or something.
• Calling this the M365 Copilot App instead of M365 Copilot home page: also crazy. An app is not a web page, this is just nonsense. 
• Rebranding M365 "M365 Copilot" in the first place. News for you Microsoft NO-ONE is going to call this product platform 'copilot'. Our users all still call it Office for heaven's sake you've only had the M365 brand for less than half a decade! 

We'll all get used to this Niklas. But the point is: 

• the change isn't *better* on first glance 
• we didn't get any option to pause or otherwise control the rollout - in fact we got a few weeks notice for a 4 week time frame it might happen in that got delayed by a month once, so even if we'd noticed the announcement we'd have had time wasted and lack of clarity for users.
• we didn't even get clear comms, it was hidden behind a copilot product update message,

This isn't how you should treat your *free* customers, let alone your business customers. And if this approach is something the MS marketing strategists are convincing the execs is a wise move that will win them plaudits and love form their customer base... then both sets of people want to give their heads a wobble.

Agree with what everyone has said - even the app waffle has gone from the page.

As an admin, it's a struggle getting people using 365 with confidence anyway - hugely backwards step by Microsoft :-(
