My Microsoft Translator on Android changed out of all recognition on about the 11th June 2025. The new version doesn't seem to have an option to download an offline language. Text recognition no longer works. Is this affecting anyone else please? I loved the old version but the new one seems very poor.

I can only agree with all those voicing their dismay at the latest upgrade. What was a brilliant app is now really awful. As for downloading the legacy version, well, no way can I get that to work. And the Pro Tip about enabling a hidden Legacy Mode also doesn't work. There is no "About Translator" when I go to Settings. Next Update: Track progress here - takes you to a dead page when you click on it. It wasn't broken so why "fix" it?

The new Translator app no longer supports offline mode making it useless when travelling. The old app was fantastic.

The new UI is not as intuitive. Please Microsoft, what are the benefits to end users of the new version. Not happy.

This is so poor from Microsoft. I really liked the old version. It got replaced on the first day of my holiday in Austria. I'd downloaded offline German ready. As soon as I arrived, I was presented with the app that doesn't work. The link to revert to the old version provided by Microsoft is surrounded with dodgy looking ads. I usually try to avoid Google software but I've had to install Google Translate. Looks like Microsoft have shot themselves in the foot once more!

Just tried your link above to roll back to previous version of Translator, there are so many ads peppered within the previous versions it's impossible to tell how to roll it back without clicking on unwanted ****. WHY DON'T YOU CREATE A CONVENIENT, CLEAR, SAFE, ONE-CLICK ROLLBACK FOR US? YOU CREATED THIS UNGODLY MESS, YOU SHOULD FIX IT FOR US PAYING MICROSOFT CUSTOMERS!

Absolute garbage! The old translator worked perfectly, had an excellent user-interface, I loved using it. The new version as of 2025-06 is an absolute POS that I will uninstall unless I can switch back to the old version. Why on Earth you people did such a radical remake and turned a formerly PERFECT app into this new POS is beyond comprehension.
