Why is Publisher being phased out, and what is Microsoft replacing it with? Will Microsoft 365 be cheaper since they are phasing out the program?

As a senior and a person who has ADHD, I don't like change, I don't like to have to upgrade and purchase programs that were included and continue to pay higher prices for fewer services. I use Publisher a lot. We make camping calendars, calendars for family birthdays, workers' schedules, etc. Soon, there will be nothing in Microsoft to fulfill this. I make camping meal plans, and prep and supplies. and no, word and its things suck. Not even close to being user-friendly for seniors, if you learned to use Word before, the updates are not as user-friendly. Great for kids learning it now, sucks for seniors. I make banners, posters, cards, signs, etc. What will I use now? I had a chat with Mohammad for 20 minutes, and he kept telling me Microsoft has a plan, just wait for it. I did mention that once you state you are phasing things out, you already have a plan and might as well explain it. No large company or corporation says they are phasing something out if they haven't come up with a plan already! When he suggested I wait, I was not impressed at all. Wait for what? Wait to hear we waited too long to be a voice the company needed to hear from us sooner? Not a happy Granny!

The person I spoke with said that the company and higher-ups need to hear from us. If you like Publisher, let them know. I am trying!!

I find it odd that Microsoft would suggest third party programs to replace publisher rather than provide loyal customers with a way to open publisher files in a Microsoft Office program. I have e perceived that labels layout in wors .does not align well when.prontong on aveey labels, while publisher alignment is much better. I don't see a quarter page greeting card layout in word that shows where the card graphics and text would align when printed and folded, making centering art work difficult and wasting paper with trial and error printing. Does Microsoft intend to improve word to replace these features from publisher? Will blank templates.availablenin publisher be available in word? Or do you plan to just leave us high and dry with hours of work to try tosave decades.of work in some substandard format before you pull the plug? This is unacceptable as it stands.

I use publisher every day to create posters, brochures, cards and so much more.

I was told, Oh Word does all that NO IT DOES NOT.

    I want publisher to continue.

IF I buy my own publisher, will I be able to use it after MICROSOFT so ignorantly stops

    it?

I have created temples in Word to replace Publisher but have found it aggravating to use. Word does not have the user-friendly use as Publisher does. I have been using Word for my Publisher files for over a month trying to get used to the way Word operates, and it is NOT nowhere as easy to use as Publisher. I had rather have Publisher remain. I will not be a happy camper when Publisher goes away.

It sure would be nice if someone from Microsoft would answer some of these questions. So far all I got from them was the email that said basically tough luck figure it out yourself. Pretty sad. I'm retired and can hardly afford the annual Office suite fee. Now to be told that I might need to purchase another expensive and probably less user friendly program than Publisher is just a shame. When will Microsoft respond to these concerns. Don't they already make enough profit. Does corporate greed know no bounds? Us little guys need some help.

I did as Microsoft suggested and saved a quarter fold greeting card made in Publisher as a pdf. Then opened it in my pdf pro program and converted it to Word. Word will not allow me to rotate the inside of card message. It showed reversed (reading right to left and backwards. But no where have I found that I can put text in a box and the rotate it upside down so when I fold the card it can be opened and read right side up. Word just isn't ready to replace publisher and neither am I. Microsoft needs to rethink this poor decision.
