error signing into invited account

Hello,

I have been invited "to access applications within [an] organization". They invited me at my home email address, pretend it's ******@me.com. For reasons that escape me now, I had to create an outlook account, ******@outlook.com, and use that with my authenticator. So, when I "Accept Invitation" and authenticate, it takes me, in Firefox, to a webpage "https://invitations.microsoft.com/redeem/redeeming?tenant=

There it has my outlook address and says, "Sign into invited account". Underneath it says, "You are currently signed in as ******@outlook.com, however, ******@me.com was invited. Do you want to switch to ******@me.com?

Of course, I click "Switch Accounts." Unfortunately, it's just teasing me. Because then it takes me to

invitations.microsoft.com/redeem/Signout?__RequestVerificationToken=

with the popup box of
"Invitation redemption failed
An error has occurred. Please retry again shortly. "

It also has a box in the lower left corner that says "RequestId: stuff Correlation Id:otherstuffTimestamp:2025-04-07 19:59:26Z"

I've tried this multiple times and always get the same thing. I have cleared my cache of anything related to microsoft.com, live.com, or sharepoint.com.

I tried to contact support, but I'm not doing good job of it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,

Chuck

    Good Morning All,

I have solved the problem. In case someone else has similar, here's what I did.

I eventually remembered why I had my outlook.com account. (FYI, MS set it up so that Outlook (with my family MS Office subscription) would work on my iPhone without ads). However, that is no longer needed. I set my home email as primary and deleted the outlook.com email. I was then able to accept the invitation.

Seems pretty unique, which may be why no one responded. But you never know. "the only reason I'm singin' you the song now is 'cause you may know Somebody in a similar situation / Or you may be in a similar situation, and if you're in a situation like that," then this is one thing you can do.

    Good luck!
