One Drive folders changed to Internet Shortcuts - FOR THE SECOND TIME!!!

In June 2024, my shared One Drive folders changed to Internet Shortcuts. Despite trying any suggestions we could find, and hearing nothing but canned responses from MicroSoft, we opted to spend a weekend changing to a new email address / MicroSoft / One Drive account after 6 months of frustration.

Today, that new account once again changed my One Drive folders to Internet shortcuts. Besides going through the entire new email address process again, have I missed any workarounds for this?

    This just started to happen to me today, and to compound it all several hundred family photos and crucial documents from all over our shared network were moved to the recycle bin, its a mess!!!

    Microsoft when are you going to fix this issue that randomly brings misery to many hundreds, just look at the number of people in many different threads who are experiencing this!!!!

    Today my shared folder shortcuts have turned back into actual folders in OneDrive

    IT'S A MIRACLE!

    They can't be selected/unselected in the 'choose folders' list on OneDrive settings but IT'S WORKING (for now)

    Mine is still remain shortcut. Have to open from the browser.

    ...same here... I'm pushing back my business work because I cannot work like this and I've already created a mess adding new folders on my desktop.... to manage some workload. On top of that, as I'm managing my business' digital media, I have a very hard time because I cannot just upload from desktop pictures like I used to do...

    Very very frustrating...
