One Drive folders changed to Internet Shortcuts - FOR THE SECOND TIME!!!

I went through your post carefully and I totally understand that you had experienced the OneDrive shortcuts issue in June 2024 for the first time, but now again the same issue reappeared that the shared OneDrive folders are showing as Internet shortcut on the OneDrive client sync app.

If my understanding is correct, in recent days, I did find there have started with some other customers reporting that the same shortcut issue is appearing again on their sides. Below is some information from my search across the community, I believe you are not the only one who are again experiencing the issue and some screenshots I attached showing that some customers are reporting the same internet shortcut issue happening on his side in the previous hot issue threads:

Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on - Microsoft Community When I checked at the last page, it seems like yesterday a customer provided the same workaround again which you have already worked for 6 months, but I do understand that re-create a new account and move everything can be really time-consuming and unacceptable as this is a serious bug that OneDrive product team should absolutely resolve it ASAP since it really have causing the inconveniences for many users till NOW.

However, since it is highly possible that the issue you are experiencing is related to the OneDrive product side instead of the end user's side. As a community moderator here, I may have limited troubleshooting suggestions offer to you that may still failed to resolve the potential product bug issue. Besides recreate account, it seems like I failed to find other workarounds. Hence, to make sure you can get the dedicated support from engineers that can make remote sessions to collect the backend HAR logs from more end devices and investigate deeper to find out the root cause of the ongoing OneDrive shared folder issue and make sure to fix the issue ASAP to prevent this from happening again, I suggest affected users contact the Microsoft online support team where engineers there can offer more support resources for this scenario like remote session to collect logs, and also report this directly to the internal OneDrive feedback channel ASAP. Thank you, Mia. I have reached out to Microsoft Support and included your information as the reason why I contacted them. Please keep everyone posted on the bugfix for this.

This change makes sharing folders with family members completely useless. Nothing has changed on any of the accounts or PCs being used yet all of a sudden our shared folders don't work as they should. Internet shortcuts are not the answer. FIX THIS :(

Same things happen to my OneDrive shared folder too. The folder that shared to me from OneDrive also appear on my laptop as Internet shortcut.

Same problem here, nothing we can do to fix it but wait. Shambolic at the very least. Many of us cannot operate at our businesses.

Please fix it immediately. We should get what we are paying for.
