One Drive folders changed to Internet Shortcuts - FOR THE SECOND TIME!!!

In June 2024, my shared One Drive folders changed to Internet Shortcuts. Despite trying any suggestions we could find, and hearing nothing but canned responses from MicroSoft, we opted to spend a weekend changing to a new email address / MicroSoft / One Drive account after 6 months of frustration.

Today, that new account once again changed my One Drive folders to Internet shortcuts. Besides going through the entire new email address process again, have I missed any workarounds for this?

    For me it worked to remove the shortcuts that show as shortcuts (files) from my OneDrive folder. Uninstall and reinstall OneDrive, and from the online OneDrive environment (in browser), create a new shortcut to the shared folder. Whenever this synced again, the shortcuts show up as folders again and they behaved in the way they used to before, and my app on my Android devices aligned with this again.

    ...same here... I'm pushing back my business work because I cannot work like this and I've already created a mess adding new folders on my desktop.... to manage some workload. On top of that, as I'm managing my business' digital media, I have a very hard time because I cannot just upload from desktop pictures like I used to do...

    Very very frustrating...

    How is it possible!

    Mine is still remain shortcut. Have to open from the browser.
