How do I stop Copilot interfering with my documents? I removed the app but it is still there like an embedded virus. Word for Windows.

I DO NOT WANT COPILOT!!!!!!!! Why are you polluting my Word documents with stupid Copilot?????? I don't want it.

Update to version 2501 and disable it on the new Copilot tab in Options:

I am using a MacBook and Office 365. There is no "Options" under "File." Can you advise?

This Copilot appearing everywhere is driving me crazy. So awful.

Is this fix only for PC's or does it include Mac's? I do not have a box to check or uncheck in "preferences" and I don't know why. If people could preference which system they are using when they use this fix it would be most helpful.

The forums are somewhat specific. This is the Word for Windows forum. I just modified the title to include that information in this post. If you look to the right of the question when you open it, it gives the operating system if the original poster included that when posting.

I am pleased to inform you that, thanks to proactive feedback from users like yourself, the development team has taken this issue seriously. In the latest version of Word (version 2501), the development team has added a button that allows you to disable all Copilot prompts in Word with a single click. To do this, please open the Word application, go to File > Options > Copilot, and uncheck the "Enable Copilot" option.

Currently, this feature to disable Copilot is only available in Word; it has not yet been added to Excel or PowerPoint, as the development team has received the most feedback from Word users. If you have any thoughts or suggestions regarding the use of Office applications, please feel free to share them with the development team at any time by using the File > Feedback button within the application. The development team is committed to listening to user feedback to improve Office.

When I get there I do not get "enable copilot" I get "collapse copilot summary automatically".

That does nothing so far as I can discern.

This is really a huge pain. I cannot use Word now.

Please show me some genuine help that will really remove that unwanted program from my machine, or at the very least truly disable it.
