How do I stop Copilot interfering with my documents? I removed the app but it is still there like an embedded virus. Word for Windows.

What if Copilot doesn't show up in the list of Word Options, but the Copilot icon is still in EVERY DOC - both new and ones I'm editing???

And where do I find the version number of my Word install? My laptop is 6 weeks and my MS Office apps are even newer!

This PESKY copilot does NOT appear in the list of Word Options, so I think I somehow already disabled / removed it there.

BUT it just started popping up a few minutes ago in every NEW Word doc I open, AND every doc I try to edit, and I CANNOT GET RID OF IT.

THIS IS MADDENING.

Yes, it works fine. Users must just remember also to click OK after unchecking the copilot button.

Oh! We are still partly in the Microsoft-Windows era. These days, using a lot of "apps" (that is applications), you can find out where to go to do something and magically arrive there and try to do what you think you're supposed to do. You're supposed to know that it's "done" now. You don't know it's taken care of, no way to find out, etc., except if you eventually find out it didn't work by which time you've forgotten what it was. That goes for Android and some others.... Recently, Microsoft has been leaving you staring at a screen with no idea "what is next." Tolstoy is quoted as saying, a long time ago, "Everybody's in a big hurry these days."

CoPilot is making me crazy! Whoever thought it was a good idea to embed this thing in the program is ruining my day.

I'm using the latest version of Word on my new Mac and, per the above, "Options" does not show up under the file tab.

I have looked everywhere on my subscription settings to turn it off and have disabled all Diagnostic and Connected Experiences in the Privacy Settings of Word. I don't see an Enable/Disable CoPilot button anywhere.

And Copilot.Still.Shows.Up!!!!

Why not just put it right up there with the icon itself in the ribbon BTW rather than making users hunt for it!?

I cannot work with this thing interuptting me. Any other steps I can take?
