How do I stop Copilot interfering with my documents? I removed the app but it is still there like an embedded virus. Word for Windows.

That **** Icon is buggy as **** and prevents the proper selection of text, particularly selection of entire paragraphs with double click.

The "Copilot" setting in the option settings is NOT **** there.

PLEASE do not force copilot on OneDrive/ZMicrosoft365 users! AI writing should ALWAYS be COMPLETELY optional. Copilot GREATLY interferes with the writing process. I hope you change this in OneDrive forthwith! Thank you!

The changes to OneDrive are the most annoying ones. I need to be able to open documents on my iPad and iPhone imported from my PC but all it does now, is show me a photo summary. Glad I was able to disable copilot everywhere though. I was already annoyed when the previous version of Word would constantly tell me, 'more precise language would help my reader understand better'. I'm writing research reports here, for feck's sake. :D

I did this "turning of Enable Copilot". It does not permanently turn it off. It only turns it off for the document you are working in at the time you disable it. As soon as you open a new document, it appears again. I sure hope MS fixes this quick as it is highly annoying and completely unnecessary. The default should be NO Copilot. Then users who want to use it can turn it on if they wish.

UPDATE: After disabling Copilot in a blank Word document, I completely closed the Word app and then re-opened it. I then opened a new blank word document and Copilot did not appear. So hopefully that is now a permanent shut down of something that was not needed in the first place.
