I did changes on list items , restore version, delete versions but attachment was still there. So Is following response correct ?

In SharePoint, attachments added to list items are shared across all versions of that item. This means that when you attach a file to a list item, the attachment remains consistent and accessible regardless of the item's version history.

Dear Rastislav Janotka,

Good day to you!

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. We will be happy to help you.

According to your description, yes, your understanding is correct. In SharePoint, attachments added to list items are indeed shared across all versions of the item. Based on your description, I tested this behavior on my end and can confirm that attachments remain consistent and accessible across all versions of the item.

This means that when you attach a file to a list item, the same attachment is retained and available, even if the list item undergoes multiple updates and new versions are created. The attachment does not change or get versioned independently; it remains linked to the list item as a whole.

If you have any specific scenarios in mind or further questions, feel free to share, and I’ll be happy to assist further.

Thank you for your understanding. Your cooperation and contributions are greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Nahid Sultan
