why would my OneDrive suddenly be processing over 40,000 changes?

@nahid if many people are suddenly experiencing similar issues it makes zero sense to create multiple threads. People are experiencing the same symptoms. If you can't actually help can you please escalate this.

This is happening to me too. Onedrive is accessing my c drive documents folder and syncing everything up to the cloud - even when it was NEVER linked to sync. It is also syncing EVERYTHING on the cloud down to my c drive. I only had 6 folders set to sync. Someone stuffed up an update big time.

Exactly the same here too. Over 273k changes and going down about 6 at a time 🤦‍♂️.

There's clearly some kind of recent issue introduced if many people are reporting it. No need for new chat threads.

To add: if I go to onedrive in the browser, nothing is being updated. (Which is correct: I haven't done any kind of mass-update on my laptop).

I have exactly the same problem on all my laptops, two Windows 11 and one Apple. My iPad does not have a problem. What is the point of asking for a new thread when you have the same reported problem from several users. Deal with it!
